We served as a Structural Mission Lead, representing the structural analysis department for the Spacelab Program Office. We led the Second International Microgravity Laboratory (IML-2) Mission (STS-65) and the Second United States Migrogravity Laboratory (USML-2) Mission (STS-73).
We performed detailed stress, buckling, dynamic, fatigue, and fracture analyses on multiple components associated with the Spacelab Program, including pressure vessels, equipment racks, Space Shuttle interfaces, and crew support equipment.
We assessed equipment flown in the Spacelab Habitat Module, the Mission Peculiar Equipment Support Structure (MPESS) Carrier, the MPESS-B Carrier, and the Igloo Pallet Carrier. We generated several documents and reports supporting the design, analysis, and qualification testing of various space system components.
We supported sixteen (16) successful flight missions aboard the Space Shuttle, including SLS-1 (STS-40), IML-1 (STS-42), SLJ (STS-47), USML-1 (STS-50), USMP-1 (STS-52), D-2 (STS-55), SLS-2 (STS-58), SRL-1 (STS-59), USMP-2 (STS-62), MIR (STS-63), IML-2 (STS-65), ATLAS-3 (STS-66), ASTRO-2 (STS-67), SRL-2 (STS-68), USML-2 (STS-73), and LMS (STS-78).
