Colley Aerospace consulted in the design, development, and airworthiness certification of several helicopter cargo nets. We performed the airworthiness substantiation analysis on multiple external/internal cargo nets for a variety of helicopter platforms.
Classical hand analysis techniques, coupled with minimum break strength (MBS) testing, was used to support the design, fabrication, and certification of nets for several normal transport rotorcraft and cargo transport rotorcraft.
These cargo nets were certified to a wide variety of standards, including the Code of Federal Regulations – Title 14-Part 29 and Part 27, NAS3610, and TSO-C90. We generated several detailed reports documenting the airworthiness substantiation of the cargo nets and the mechanical interfaces to the aircraft for approval by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
